Rotary Honors Three as October Students of the Month

The Rotary Club of Everett on October 20, 2026, honored three local high school students as Rotary Students of the Month.

Each month during the school year the club recognizes and celebrates outstanding high school students in the city of Everett for their accomplishments and their promise.

Cascade High School Student of the Month is Vivienne Nguyen, who has challenged herself to be involved, make a difference, and give back to others, all while maintaining a 4.0 GPA. She served as a Class Officer, ASB Vice President and now ASB President, and is active in National Honor Society, Key Club, Link Crew, and Badminton Club. Vivienne completed over 200 hours of volunteer service last year. She has served on the Everett Public Schools Foundation Board and begins a new role this year as a member of the City of Everett Youth Advisory Board.

Student of the Month from Sequoia High is Lily Bryson. Lily actively works to ensure everyone feels included. She often leads through service, supporting others’ ideas while adding her own perspective. Lily stands out for her thoughtfulness, leadership and ability to connect learning to real-world opportunities. After taking ceramics, she applied her skills by creating items to sell at the school’s spring bazaar, with proceeds funding free yearbooks. She led sustainability club members in growing plants to sell, advertised the event and worked with two friends making giant paper flowers for the bazaar.

Everett High Student of the Month is Joseph Cherry, Pacific Islander Club president and a vital part of the EHS football defensive line. Joe challenges himself, taking numerous AP courses every year. And he is very involved with the non-profit Oceania Northwest; an organization committed to the care of the Oceanian people in the Pacific Northwest. A teacher said, “You meet Joseph one time and know he will be leaving his mark on the world. He is completely sincere in his curiosity, his generosity and his authenticity. It helps that he's wicked smart, too. He's an absolute star!”
