Rotary Honors Three as Students of the Month for February

In a hybrid online/in-person meeting, the Rotary Club of Everett on January 18th  honored three local high school students as Rotary Students of the Month.

Each month during the school year the club recognizes outstanding high school students in the city of Everett for their accomplishments and their promise.

CASCADE HIGH SCHOOL

Cascade High Student of the Month is Prabhman Singh Aujla, who challenges himself with multiple AP classes, as a basketball team member and as a volunteer basketball coach for the Special Olympics. Prabhman has also helped with the Cascade Food Drive. His Everett Community College English teacher says “As a student, he is top notch. Gets to class on time, gets his work done, and is very respectful to teachers and classmates. If not present in class, his absence is noticed.”

SEQUOIA HIGH SCHOOL

Student of the Month from Sequoia High is Zoe Lockeman, president of the sustainability club and part of the new student school tour leadership team. She is an incredible artist, one of five who participated in an after-school glass blowing class at the Shack Art Center, where she learned the basics of glassblowing. She plans to study early elementary education at Skagit Valley Community College. “She is the glue in our advisory,” said her advisor, "friendly, thoughtful and full of joy!”

EVERETT HIGH SCHOOL

Everett High Student of the Month is Ellery Erichsen, who’s been involved in yearbook, the bibliophile society and the technical side of drama productions. Ellery enjoys learning, reading, and drawing, among other things. Future plans include going to Everett Community College, then to university to study for a possible career as book editor. A teacher said “Ellery is a delight. An avid reader, analytical thinker, and friendly and inclusive classmate, Ellery makes everyone in the room feel safe, welcome, and seen.”
