ROTARY CLUB OF EVERETT
LEADING OFF
President Michael Kvistad rang the bell at 12:00 noon, calling to order meeting #5584 of the Rotary Club of Everett and meeting #34 of his presidency. He then led the club in the Pledge of Allegiance.
THOUGHT OF THE DAY
Kari Quaas presented the Thought of the Day, quoting Mark Twain.
VISITING ROTARIANS & GUESTS
Kelli Thode introduced visiting Rotarian Carrie Radcliff of the South Everett Mukilteo club. PP Neil Angst introduced John Jordan from Victoria, BC. Paul Stoot introduced his executive assistant.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
Kelli Thode announced the blood drive produced 33 units of blood for a total of 344 units.
She also mentioned coffee hour on Wednesday, March 12th 8am at Sobar in Everett.
President Michael reminded club members to please pay their dues.
Larry O’Donnell mentioned a card for Henry Newton, who was in the hospital but is home now. Updates to follow.

Kari Petrasek was happy about her recent ski trip to Breckenridge, CO.
Barbara George mentioned the Everett Museum’s annual meeting next Sunday at the Tulalip Reservation.
Kari Quaas showed a photo of the fellowship at the Elks Club.
John Olson had $20 for finding his $20.
President Michael was happy that Mark Valentine was wearing a Seahawks jersey.
Mike Holcomb had belated birthday bucks.
Janice Ellis was happy to be involved with students. She travelled to Canada and will be travelling to Brazil.

Kelli Thode discussed our annual fundraiser, which funds student scholarships. Members are asked to donate at least $350 or more. The team captains are Andy Hall, Ryan Willis, Kari Petrasek and Mark Valentine.

PROGRAM: Jordan Babineaux – Seattle Seahawks
Paul Stoot introduced today’s speaker, Jordan Babineaux - “Big Play Babs”. Jordan discussed his program Pivot to Win in Life, Sports and Business. Charles Darwin stated that species that survive are the ones that are most adaptable to change.
As a young boy, Jordan dreamed of playing in the NFL. He attended Southern Arkansas University and played in the Division 2 All Star game. He got a call from Ray Rhodes, the defensive coordinator for the Seattle Seahawks.
Jordan had to make a pivot to a post sports carrier. The framework for his Pivot program is:
- Purpose – Define Your Why
- Innovate – Adapt & Evolve
- Vision – See it Before it Happens
- Ownership – Take Control
- Tenacity – Execute Relentlessly
Jordan concluded by stating that success isn’t about avoiding change but embracing it.
President Michael thanked the Jordan for speaking. He adjourned the meeting.
