Program
"Advance Care Planning"
Paula Beatty, R.N., the strategic program manager for the Snohomish County Health Leadership Coalition’s Advance Care Planning Initiative presented the program.  Advance Care Planning and Palliative Care is one of the 3 initiatives the Snohomish County Health Leadership Coalition has.

Advance care planning is a process that can result in an advance care directive. With advance care planning the individual can communicate their wishes and preferences for the medical care and treatment they need to improve their quality of life. Central to it is the fact that it puts patients in charge of choosing what medical care they want and do not want. Simply put, it is personalized care that corresponds with a patient’s own values.
