THE ROTARY CLUB OF EVERETT
 
LEADING OFF
President Kelli Thode rang the bell at 12 noon, calling to order meeting #5641 of the Rotary Club of Everett and meeting #41 of her presidency.    
 
THOUGHT OF THE DAY
Kari Quaas presented the thought of the day, quoting Michelle Obama. 
 
VISTING ROTARIANS & GUESTS
Cassidy Spencer introduced her husband, Andrew. Henry Janicki introduced his daughter. Ashley Bolden introduced her friend, Kendra Black.
 
RESOLUTION FOR FRED SJOHOLM
PP Bob Bavasi presented a resolution for Fred Sjoholm. Fred was born in 1935 and graduated from the University of Washington in 1957 with a degree in accounting. He married in 1959 and started a career in accounting and financial planning. He helped with growing the club’s endowment fund to $7000000. The club has a scholarship in his name for students pursuing a career in finance and accounting. Fred passed away in December 2025. The club then observed a moment of silence in Fred’s honor.  
 
ANNOUNCEMENTS
Kari Quaas thanked the many Rotarians who were involved with the student scholarship interviews. Scholarship awards night is Wednesday, May 13th.
 
Krissy Davis announced the student shopping spree on June 2nd and June 4th. Each student will have $600 to spend on college supplies. See Krissy to sign up to help the students shop on either day.
 
President Kelli announced the blood drive on April 24th. It will be our 20th!
 
PE Kari Petrasek announced that the fundraiser has raised $47673 so far. A celebration will be held on April 2nd at the Imagine Children's Museum.
 
HAPPY DOLLAR$
Henry Janicki was $100 happy to spend time with fellow Rotarians at the scholarship interviews.

STUDENTS OF THE MONTH
Everett High School
Jen Selders introduced Everett High School student of the month, Mia Cienega. Mia is a 2-time wrestling state champion. She has a 3.8 GPA while taking 8 AP classes. She is highly motivated and has a love of learning. Mia thanked the club for the honor. She will be studying law and political science.
 
Sequoia High School
Tricia Schultz introduced Sequoia High School student of the month, Karrera Staeheli. Karrera makes school a top priority and puts in the effort needed to succeed. Karrera is determined and committed to learning. Karrera was honored to be here, and thanked Sequoia High School.
 
Cascade High School
Cindy Kuntz introduced Cascade High School student of the month, Kaylee Kim. Kaylee has a 3.9 GPA while taking 7 AP classes. She has discipline, drive and leadership qualities. She volunteers helping those with Alzheimer’s and dementia. Kaylee thanked the club, her teachers, counsellors, friends and family. She plans on pursuing studies in psychology.
 
Cassidy Spencer thanked the students.
 
CLOSING
President Kelli announced the board meeting on Friday, April 24th, 7:30am on Zoom. She thanked our guests and students.
