ROTARY CLUB OF EVERETT
MEETING:
President Michael Kvistad started the 1st meeting of the year 2025-2026 and the 5,601st meeting of the Rotary Club of Everett with the Pledge of Allegiance.
THOUGHT OF THE DAY:
John Olson, PP, was the pinch hitter for Kari Quass in giving the Thought of the Day. His thought was about the Changing of the Guard. We rotate leadership to give members an opportunity to lead, learn, travel, and meet new people. Thank you to those who have served in the past, for those serving now, and for those who will lead in the future. Thank you for stepping in.
INTRODUCTION OF VISITING ROTARIANS AND GUESTS:
Kelli Thode introduced Gul Subuykan, Carl Gipson Center, and Henry from Smith Island Station.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
President Michael announced the 2025 Local Impact Grant recipients. Each recipient received $2,000.
- United Way of Snohomish County
- Assistance League of Everett
- Christmas House
- Eagle Wins Disabilities Ministries
President Michael presented Kim, Jetty Bar & Grill server, with a Thank you Card. Thank you Kim for all you did this last year!
HAPPY DOLLARS/BIRTHDAY BUCKS:
Steve Miller, PP, was happy as his daughter got married last week. It was a great wedding!
Mark Johnson had birthday bucks.
Joe Gaffney had a 2 bellringer as he was happy to be here and his son is getting married this summer.
Janice Ellis was happy because of two Rotary social events. One was the 10 year Dajabon project at Ed Petersen’s house, and a BBQ to say goodbye to Tobi. Tobi leaves July 5th to go home.
President Michael had a bellringer for a day with his dad and for a fun Rotary year.
Kelli Thode had a bellringer for a birthday on Wednesday and Changing of the Guard.
Krissy Davis had a wonderful time with her mom and four siblings.
Henry, guest, had a birthday.
Tammy Dunn had birthday bucks.
RAFFLE:
There was a reminder to donate more prizes to the Raffle Committee.
- Winner Number 1 – Henry, guest, selected the wine and candy.
- Winner Number 2 – Henry Newton selected the candy and plant.
- Winner Number 3 – Joe Gaffney received the travel package from Ireland.
Quarterly Raffle for a Paul Harris – Winner was Betsy Baker-Bold.
PROGRAM: Changing of the Guard
President Michael recognized the Rotarians who worked “behind the scenes” and “on stage”.

President Kelli presented Past President Michael with a Past President pin. Kari Petrasek presented PP Michael with a gift bag.
President Kelli is honored to serve and the Rotary Theme for the Year 2025-2026 is United for Good. Service Above Self is the principal motto of Rotary.
President Kelli announced that the Carl Gipson Center is the speaker gift charity for this year. The club will host the Christmas event there and will collaborate more with the Senior Center. President Kelli stated that are focus is being involved within the community. We will have Monthly Coffee Hours, After Hours and special events each month. These events will be an opportunity to welcome the guests from the community and for everyone to connect. We will collaborate with other Rotary Clubs to make an impact with the local community.
President Kelli thanked the bellringers and guests.
