THE ROTARY CLUB OF EVERETT
 
MEETING
President Michael Kvistad rang the bell at 12:02pm, calling to order meeting #5574 of the Rotary Club of Everett and meeting #24 of his presidency. He then led the club in the Pledge of Allegiance.
 
MUSIC OF THE DAY
Walt Greenwood sang a song about this time of year.
 
THOUGHT OF THE DAY
Ashley Bolden brought us the Thought of the Day, urging the club to focus on opportunity.
 
President Michael challenged the club to identify a song. Marybeth Dingledy won the prize for knowing the song was from the movie Singles.
 
VISITING ROTARIANS & GUESTS
Janice Ellis introduced Toby, our youth exchange student.
 
ANNOUCEMENTS
President Michael announced that next week’s meeting will be held at the Carl Gibson Senior Center. The Everett High School choir will perform. Kelli Thode added that members should arrive at 11:30am to get lunch. The meeting will start at 12:00pm.
 
Kari Quaas announced that the picture on the video screen is of students at the Historic Everett Theater.
 
Kelli Thode announced a blood drive on Friday, December 20th, 10:00am to 3:00pm at the Elks Club.
 
Anna Marie Laurence announced that Rotary scholarship interviews are coming up.
 
Kelli Thode mentioned the fellowship at Kindred Kitchen last week and that there will be new fellowship opportunities coming up.
 
HAPPY DOLLAR$
PP John Olson was happy for the 107th anniversary of the Rotary Club of Everett.
 
PP Neil Angst had $100, requesting that club members wear more festive attire.
 
PP Mark Valentine was happy to see Husky girls’ basketball at Hec-Ed.
 
PP Larry O’Donnell was $100 happy for last week’s good fortune.
 
President Michael was happy to be the assistant coach of his daughter’s basketball team.
 
RAFFLE
This week’s raffle winners were:
  • PP Mark Valentine won some wine.
  • Kelli Thode won some honey.
  • PP Will McMahan won some wine.
PROGRAM: Student of the Month
Jen Selders introduced Everett High School’s student of the month, Noah Parker. Noah is a basketball player and a leader. He thanked the club for the award. He appreciates all that Rotary does for the community.
 
Tricia Schultz introduced Sequoia’s student of the month, Sabin Hauck. Sabin enjoys playing guitar and 80’s rock. Sabin would like to pursue a career in construction. Sabin thanked the club for the honor.
 
Cindy Kurtz introduced Cascade High School’s student of the month, Trina Diep. Trina is an exemplary student with a passion for jazz choir. She is always willing to try new things.  Trina stated that she is the president of two school clubs, runs the school store and enjoys travel. She thanked the club for all it does for the community.

President Michael thanked all the students, parents and counselors.
